Gerti Motavalli, PT, MPT received her initial physical therapy diploma from the Berfusfachschule für Krankengymnastik in Deggendorf, Germany, and earned a master’s degree in physical therapy (MPT) from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, USA. She is working in Fernandina Beach, Florida, USA in her pediatric clinic.
Together with Dr. Gad Alon, PT, Ph.D., a well known researcher in the field of electrical stimulation, she developed a novel non-invasive spinal electrical stimulation (NISE-Stim ) protocol for children with Spina Bifida and other motor impairments. The findings have been published in the journal, Child Neurology Open in 2019. Ms. Motavalli is constantly updating her protocol as she gains new insight from treating more and more patients with spinal electrical stimulation. So far she has treated more that 300 children over the past 7 years. Ms. Motavalli offers continuing education seminars to therapists around the world. Children can be treated online or in person in Florida USA.
